In your company, forms are everywhere, from expense reports to travel
requests, and they usually have some type of workflow associated with
them. Approval workflows are a very common request in SharePoint, and
there are several different ways to go about creating this process.
SharePoint Designer and InfoPath are common tools that are used to not
only create the business form, but also to run it through an approval.
Depending on the business requirements, there are different best
practices involved. In this session, attendees will learn how SharePoint
2010 and InfoPath 2010 can be leveraged the most efficiently to create
an approval process that is best for the specific project. Improvements
from 2007 to 2010 will also be discussed.

As so many of us know all too well, today’s SharePoint environments empower users to communicate and share information on a level not been seen in the past. With that level of empowerment; there’s also been a dramatic increase in the need to protect more sensitive information, manage storage, keep a rounded and purposeful taxonomy, and just “know” what’s happening in the SharePoint realm. In order to grab hold of this understanding, you’ve first got to grab hold on an in-depth understanding of the underlying SharePoint security. This includes investigating and understanding ALL levels in which access and actions can take place inside your environment. We’ll cover these aspects and more. From that level of understanding, we can then apply some simple management concepts that will better your environment and keep you on track for future growth.
