  • Netcast 91–Burst Into Flames

Body: In tonight's episode I try the very tricky, "broadcasting from a hotel room" maneuver, which is almost as difficult as spelling "maneuver." I talk about the August 2011 CU for SharePoint and whether you should install it or not. I show how to encrypt web.config settings. I also talk about a new whitepaper that walks through some best practices with the User Profile Service. I also give a couple of tips on how to make upgrades go more smoothly. I wrap it up with my laptop trying to burn itself up and by telling a hysterical story of how I rolled back a VM snapshot and lost a script I had been writing. Note: The audio on this is a little quiet.
